Glass and Glazing Federation
TrustMark
TrustMark is your route to a job well down
Are you worried about picking names at random out of the phone book when you need work done on your home or garden? Well, now there is an alternative - TrustMark.
TrustMark is a new scheme supported by the Government and funded by the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), consumer groups and the building industry.
Paramount Home Improvments has been approved to display the TrusMark logo through the Glass and Glazing Federation, an approved TrustMark scheme operator. This means we have been found to meet certain standards and criteria the Government has set.
- TrustMark is an independent initiative created jointly by Government, industry and consumer groups
- TrustMark is designed to give increased consumer protection to people having work done in and around their homes
- TrustMark provides a single logo to look out for - a logo you can trust
- TrustMark registered firms are reputable tradespeople
- TrustMark is growing - there are thousands of registered firms accessible via TrustMark right now and the number and range of tradespeople will increase all the time
Finding a reputable company
Through TrustMark, the Government, the building industry and consumer groups are working together to stamp out rogue traders.
They can help you find reputable companies, such as Paramount Home Improvements, to carry out repairs, maintenance or improvement work in your home or garden, rather than simply hope for the best.
TrustMark includes representatives from leading trade associations and independent certification organisations, as well as trusted consumer organisations like Trading Standards and Which?
Figures from the Office of Fair Trading show the need for its service. Last year there were more complaints about poor home-improvement work than second-hand car dealers! This means 111,000 people now have their own building horror story to tell.
How Can TrustMark help you?
When you see the TrustMark logo, you know that:
- the approved scheme of operators have checked our technical skills, trading record and financial position
- we have signed up to a code of practice that includes insurance, good health and safety practices, and customer care
- the approved scheme of operators have checked and will continue to monitor our quality of work, trading practices and consumer satisfaction
- we will tell you of any building regulations you must meet, and may be able to give you the certifications you need
- if you have a problem or disagreement with the firm, there is a clear and user-friendly complaints procedure to help sort the problem
In return, you are expected to deal fairly with the firm, agree a fair price for good work and pay quickly when the job is finished.
